Identity Crisis
The mirror deceives,
It is a distortion of beauty that I see-
A wounded look pasted on a face
Irrevocably lost.
Two dark pools of corruption
Sink into a skull,
Poorly drawn caricature:
Smudged, unfinished, unsealed
Brown dull hair with pink streaks
To mask the tediousness;
Imitation of a withered flower
Attracting bees, now drained of pollen
Muted smiles, silent agonies-
Heart dissected by
A rare grotesqueness,
Utter disgrace.
The striptease of a catastrophe;
Expiring hopes, draining dreams
Bursting at the seams,
A demure, contained explosion.
I am the carbon dioxide
Floating aimlessly in the air;
I combust, a child of fire
As the flames of life consume my hair.

I was inspired by the seemingly endless years bursting with self consciousness and self-discovery. I think we can all relate :)
