Where I´m From
I am from blackened asphalt feet,
from sidewalk chalk and ice cold water fights.
I am from the paint chipped, blue shutters,
from the squeaky screen door.
I am from cone flowers,
from the sharp grass and the old buggy wheel on the side of the house.
I am from Christmas at grandma's and sleepovers with cousins
from Wickey, Van Etta and Blicharz
I am from late night bonfires and sticky s'mores
from freshly trimmed grass and green stained toes
I am from Sunday mornings at church
from hating Sunday mornings at church to no more wasting my sundays at church
I am from tear stained cheeks to scrapes on my hands
from dirt covered knees
I am from That´s So Raven after school
from butter and jelly roast
I am from the love of older brothers and way too many siblings
I am from the love of a mother and father all in one
