Empty Eyes
I remember when we said goodbye,
  I remember your dark eyes,
I see them in my tea,
I see them down the street,
I see them in the soil that will bring up new trees,
I see them in my dreams,
  Begging me to leave.

I don't see them anymore in my empty cup,
I don't see them in these empty streets,
I don't see them in the real world.
I remember when she said hello,
  I remember her bright eyes,
I see them offering me her shiny blue world,
  I see them as oceans,
I see them as a bright blue sky,
I see them in my hoodie,
  Poking a hole right through.

I don't see them in my drink,
I don't see them down the road,
I don't see them in my sleep.
