Without You
Without you
The sun still shines,
And the world still turns,
But I’m still not fine.
Without you
I need to learn
How to love other things,
Even though it’s you that I yearn.
Without you
Standing by my side as king,
How can I be queen
And take on what life brings?
Without you
And those eyes so green,
How can I see what’s ahead,
All the dangers unseen?
Without you
I lie awake in bed
And without you on my brain,
I start my new life instead.
Without you
I just drink away the pain,
Because you’re not here to stop me
And try to keep me sane.
Without you,
I tell myself I’m free,
So I sleep with the wrong names,
But I think you and I can agree:
Without you
I’m simply not the same.
I need you to guide me out
Of this deadly game.
Without you
My mind is filled with doubt,
So I take another pill
And travel farther down this route.
Without you
It’s me I slowly kill.
I promise it won’t go too far,
But we all know that it will.
Without you
Every day is a new scar,
Because if you’re not mine,
The door to my heart remains ajar.
Because without you
Your sun will still shine,
And your world will still turn,
But for me, nothing is fine.
