Sins Against the Rejected Heart
I’m drawn to the silent rebels,
The bearers of dyed hair and piercings.
And as I realize people do not care
About the trembling girl in the back corner
With black and white sneakers,
Life brings forth the Sirens.
The most beautiful being takes the first step toward me,
Her footsteps and swaying hips entrancing me.
I come closer, and she emerges from the black doorway.
I notice the hair first,
Aqua and a platinum blonde all captured into a bun.
Then, every other feature is traced:
The green lip piercings on those full, pink lips, fair skin like
Porcelain, and a body built with curves
Following a forbidden yet tempting path.
I greet the young woman with a simple “Hello,”
And she nods at me. “Hi.”
I’ve never truly experienced the thrill of being
Around a beauty, not a single thing
Could take me in, but this voice that I heard
Drew me closer and closer.
I should have known what a Siren does
To the poor, unfortunate souls who were lured in.

I have had a crush on a girl in my school, and I also like mythology.
