Down deep in the depths of despair

Where demons run and nightmares thrive

Thats where I live, not that I care

With chains keeping me here, one on each side

Theres a little ray of sunshine that shineswhere I'm kept

It's that little flicker that gets me through each day

But morning turns to evening with every sunset

And that is when darkness creeps in to play.

My mind torments me through the night

Unspoken terrors cackle at my distress

The demons try to infultrate the world of light

Yet I'd rather die than let them through, this i will confess

Darkest fears flash before my eyes

The lines between illusion and reality fade

Manacles fall and freedom before me lies

A shake of the head rids the fantasy I've made

Others try to help me, I smile sadly at their effort

But there is only one person who this burden is for

These iron caskets shackle me in this demon filled court

Freely I make this choice, the world saved forevermore

@C.H.Ild Wow, so sad and dark. This poem actually relates to one of the characters I have in one of the novel projects that I have. Keep up the amazing work.
