Love is like the desert lily
Strange yet beautiful
And to the desert traveler
The apex of life
As it blooms among the sands
Red and gold
Green and ochre
Diamond in the rough

I wrote this for my girl who has loved me unconditionally for a little over a year. We both found love in the desert, so to speak, when we were going through a lot. She's my desert lily.
