Our Umbrella
  Raindrops fall on pavement
like the tick of a clock
I wait under our rooftop for a millennium
  With tangled, damp hair
that curl with the fall of the rain.
  I lift my sunken head
  And there you stood
  You raise your umbrella
above my head with a grin
  And shield me
  from the darting droplets
I returned your grin with a thankful smile
We walked silently in the quiet night
  Pass wide neighborhood streets,
  clear rivers, and shrines
Azure rain pour like a waterfall
And our footsteps leave reflecting ripples
My cheeks glow a rosy pink hue
Resting my eyes in the direction of your chestnut eyes
I can sense the warmth between us
  Connected under our umbrella
Together at last in the maelstrom of time

I'm not the type to write love poems, but I make it subtle when I do.
Two people share a moment under an umbrella in all the chaos of life.
