of bells and music boxes
chime with merriment
A ferris wheel stands
fifty feet tall and carries
red and white striped chairs
Little plastic bags
hold rainbow popcorn balls that
define ecstasy
The carnival is
most wonderful when one can
connect with one’s youth
I piece together
a purple candy necklace
for the child within
