Trails
Early memories
Precious time with a dear friend
Waiting for winter
Playing in the snow
Sudden pain in my eye
My body freezes over
Hatred takes control
Taken without consciousness
Leaving forever
Taken by the Queen
Lost in deep isolation
Forever alone
A friend comes searching
Following trails of breadcrumbs
She comes to save me
A distant voice calls
Bringing conscious back to life
We head towards home

These collection of haikus are based on the original tale of "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Anderson. Memories of my young childhood are awakened evertime I revisit the tale.
