The Tragedy
The sun is long gone: it has set,
and the people all off to bed get,
yet I sit here still,
many pages to fill,
and it’s making me very upset.
I did not ask for this homework,
that makes shadows under my eyes lurk,
but wish as I may,
here it is anyway!
I’ll work, for my duties I can’t shirk.
What joy! Though the night’s nearly done,
at long last from the desk I can run.
I curl up in bed
to rest my weary head…
Oh no! I forgot about that one!
