Young boys and young girls
Leave to bring freedom to other shores
Many will fight many will die
All even before sunrise
Some will live and tell this tale
And others will be left on the battlefield
Young faces can be turned old
Just by witnessing the big and the bold
Children become men
Right then and there
War is dangerous
So handle with care

The author's comments:
was inspired, when my class went on the dc trip in 8th grade, when we visited all he memorials and saw all the deceased names. which made me relate only through a poem so i wrote this on the back side of a napkin and carried it in my pocket till i found a paper. memorible.
