Don’t refuse me my freedom
Don’t take my rights away
Just let me be free
And let me live my own way

Since my founding fathers
I’ve been forever free
I’ve taken care of myself
And lived in liberty

I’ve made some mistakes
There’ve been bumps along the way
But I fought though them
And that’s how I wish to stay

But, you my government
Wish to control my life
You want to capture my spirit
To supposedly end my strife

There is no way
For you to rule me right
It will end in disaster
I’ll end up with a worse plight

So, leave me alone
One should save himself
For I don’t want your iron fist
I wish to help myself

This is called true freedom
This is the way of liberty
Free to live, yes, to make mistakes
But really free to be

This is what I want
If you would let me choose
Give me my sweet freedom
Or my life I’ll lose

It is better to write for yourself and have no audience than write for your audience and have no self.

I love this poem because it talks about freedom something all people don’t have or feel like they have. I’m glad to be free because I have rights to do anything I want as long as my parents don’t say anything about it.
