The Degrees of You
It’s funny to think that a person, like you
Could be a person times two.
I’m not saying you have a twin
Just a different person you have been
Between you and me you are the one in my dreams
But it always turns out that you are different than you seem
We laugh and mess around
But all of your lies leave me let down
Then there is you, with our friends
The laughter continues and never ends
Yet the person I thought I knew
Was not the dreamy you
The last of you hurts the most
Because that is the one that sees me as a ghost
It’s as though you see right through me
Can you decide which you to be?
