save my soul
I watch the red slide down my arms
I cover up to prevent alarm
I bury trust and hide myself
I disguise my past and deny all help
I reassure myself that i’m okay
I withstand the words others say
Foul breath lies among the truth
Ammunition flies and lights the fuse
I block the blows with slender walls
I build up more as others fall
I try to seize what’s been deprived
I play my cards and risk my life
It takes its time as hope deforms
Another shard in a cloth that’s torn
The last of faith dies with the bold
I cry out above, please save my soul
