Earthquake to a magnitude
Higher than any you’ve known.
Reality, shattered so completely,
Everything’s wrong.
Heart-wrenching to watch,
But I can’t turn away.
Not when you’re swaying in the wind.
When lightning strikes
You can feel the ground
Breaking beneath your feet
The sun will rise again
For you and me
I won’t lie
I don’t know if tomorrow will be okay
But I can promise one thing:
By your side I’ll stay (I’ll stay)
Losing grip,
Confrontations to face.
Lies and secrets brought front and center
Fallen from grace
A sad sort of beautiful
Strong but so breakable
Trying to do the impossible
When lightning strikes
you can feel the ground
breaking beneath your feet
The sun will rise again
for you and me
I won’t lie
I don’t know if tomorrow will be okay
But I can promise one thing:
By your side I’ll stay (I’ll stay, I’ll stay, stay)
When the pieces are crashing down
Falling apart by the seams
I’ll be that constant you can hold on to
You can count on me,
Just know you’ve got me
When lightning strikes,
you can feel the ground breaking beneath your feet
The sun will shine again
For you and me
I won’t lie
I don’t know if tomorrow will be okay
But I can promise one thing,

The sun will rise again
For you and me
I won’t lie
Tomorrow might not be so great
But I can promise one thing,
by your side I’ll stay.
I’ll stay,
Stay.

Aw, thank you :)

I actually wrote this after a sort of "emotional" moment for someone. It makes me happy to hear people can relate to it :)
