The Other Side
Some of us must make
Our journey in the dark
With the only light to guide us
The occasional spark
But we keep on moving forward
Wondering who’s been left behind
And we pray it’s not the devil
Breathing by our side
We are both among
Those who cannot see
Yet it’s everything unwritten
That you and I perceive
And I can tell the look
You hold upon your face
By the force in you step
And the rhythm of your pace
*chorus*
You look at me and ask me when the sun will shine
When I tell you I don’t know, I see the tears come to your eyes
Then you lean against my shoulder and slide your hand into mine
And I promise I won’t let it go till we reach the other side
Every time we think
We’ve found solid ground
The earth begins to tremble
Without making a sound
And in the silent commotion
We always drift apart
And we never can quite find
Our way back to the start
*chorus*
