Runaway Revolutuion
She’s a beautiful rebel, he’s going to make it
Fate is pushing them to change the world.
But they’ll never meet, without hope to defeat
What’s beating this poor boy and girl.
Cradle their hopes and their dreams, without question,
They’re ebbing, and flowing, and drifting to sleep
Show them there’s light at the end of the tunnel
It’s a hope that they’re destined to meet.
Tend to her cotton and lace scars and tears, she’s got as much feeling as you.
Is this bitterness what mother desires, when she runs off in the night?
Don’t dismiss what is causing her fears, passion becomes fight or flight.
Cradle their hopes and their dreams, without question,
They’re ebbing, and flowing, and drifting to sleep
Show them there’s light at the end of the tunnel
It’s a hope that they’re destined to meet.
His father is too busy, “Son, leave me be”,
He wonders how long it takes to turn 18.
No postcards for daddy, saved up for the train, empty pockets, he salvaged the day
He met that little girl on the train.
Cradle their hopes and their dreams, without question,
They’re ebbing, and flowing, and drifting to sleep
Show them there’s light at the end of the tunnel
It’s a hope that they’re destined to meet.
