I close the curtains as soon as I get home,
I turn the ringer off of my cell phone,
It's nothing personal, not that I don't like you,
It's just this is way too hard for me to do.

I'm so sorry, but I can't let this go.
I'm so sorry, but I can't do this, no.

You don't get this, no, you don't see that,
it's not as easy as one, two, three...
It takes time, it takes energy,
and I just don't have enough right now
to swallow my pride.

You've called me at least ten time,
You're just not reading the signs.
I swore last time I'd never go back,
But with you're love I'm about to crack.

I'm so sorry, but I can't let this go.
I'm so sorry, but I can't do this, no.

You don't get this, no, you don't see that,
it's not as easy as one, two, three...
It takes time, it takes energy,
and I just don't have enough right now
to swallow my pride.

Now you've filled me up with guilt, I watched you as you knelt,
And asked me to do the one thing I can not.
You came crawling back here, filled me with fear, I know you're sincere, it's taken a year,
But I've not quite forgiven and forgot.

I'm so sorry, but I can't let this go.
I'm so sorry, but I can't do this, no.

You don't get this, no, you don't see that,
it's not as easy as one, two, three...
It takes time, it takes energy,
and I just don't have enough right now
to swallow my pride.

I left you on the porch outside,
Nothing's broken but my heart and your pride.
