A Labor Of Love
All this work and meeting deadlines paid off,
Now I'm making headlines.
Blood, sweat, and tears intertwine,
This feeling's divine!
Diverting effort to difficulties pays dividends.
Depends on how hard you work to achieve an end.
Spending time, toiling and training
Blood boiling, body straining
I'm explaining how not to deal with disdain
I'll die before defunct thoughts of defeat infect my brain.
My brain. My heart, soul, and spirit.
They all come together with such power, you should fear it.
A motivated man can muscle through mountains,
That's how I account for the downpour of debris.
I level everything in my path, feel free to see
how much I revel in each completed checklist.
An hour of sleep, a good breakfast, and I'm off and reckless.
Respect this: expect mister middle class,
your average joe,
Think he's merely mediocre,
But he'll be something historic, in a rhetorical sense
Since being historic while still breathing isn't in the past tense.
Past, present, and beyond,
When it matters most I will respond.
