And I ask of thee my friend, what is life?
Tis but a faint memory we all share?
Is thou ink of pen or the edge of knife?
Is thou a gift of god that's good and fair?
Or is thou wolfen claws and hungry eyes?
Is thou just another meaningless task?
Is thou a choice of which we live or die?
Or another sin wrapped in a false mask?
Tis thou penance or opportunity?
Tis thou an unknown we assign meaning?
Tis thou everything we want it to be?
Truely in the end tis thou anything?
So we stand with our eyes pinned to the sky
Pondering why it is we are all alive
