"Numquam finitur, donec vita finiatur."
- K. D'Angelo Alexander

I thought I had you wrapped around my finger,

Turns out you were in my head

I thought I had you wound up so tight,

Now I'm the one who's dead

The ears of my heart, I listened to;

They eventually made me deaf

Completely oblivious to your true nature,

I wish I would have left

Now it is too late,

As the dread spreads through my chest

I was tempted by Fate,

Even though I knew what was best

She drew me in with those Three Words;

The ones I shouldn't have said

And now I pray for an end to the hurt,

Caught in the Spider's Web

The author's comments:

This is a sonnet describing a man cursing love, as it has led him to be caught in a "spider's web."

Despite better judgment, he couldn't resist, and now he can only pray that it ends soon.
