Summer of 09
Now…
I look out the car window
All I see is your haunting, yet peaceful face.
How is it that after all our trouble I still desire your company?
Apology, after apology, laugh after laugh, it always
Ends with the same outcome, You and her, not You and me.
Summer…
Did all those wonderful days really happen, or am I just delusional?
We would sit, and listen to our surroundings, and the night came,
With us not even moving one inch,
We fit.
Like 2 puzzle pieces.
Car rides were the best, annoying songs we would laugh at.
Afternoons in McDonalds, sharing cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets
It’s funny to look back at the 2 months,
2 little months we had together.
But those things weren’t the best,
It was doing all those things with you that made them worth my time.
holding me so I wouldn’t
Fall down Jocelyn’s porch stairs
Hopefully…
Well start again…
Apology after apology, laugh after laugh.
Our summer, starts again….
Like a song on replay,
The pain, the tears, once again, just to see your haunting face, one more time
