Future's Fortune
You look to the future with pretty ideologies
Through eyes clouded like mists over seas darkened.
Unable to reach it, your petty future seize,
You looked to a past time, harkened.
For we all desire for a time now past;
It is a time even I had sought,
But now my eyes have fallen downcast
For by that dreaded future I have been caught.
One man cannot dawdle on their own fate
Else lose all they love and need,
For time will not halt, pause, nor wait
No matter what he hath done, what deed.
You won’t be swept up by Chronos’ tide
But my future is sealed, my time has died.
