Thunder Storms
awake in early morn
 the sun is bright
 the sky is clear
 this day will be warm

 single cloud floats by
 just a small one
 a little wisp
a white slash in the blue sky

 run, talk, laugh, play
 thinking of stories
 write poems
dont see the rain coming this way

 first sun, then rain
 hide the books
 put away the toys
but laughter rings out the same

 storm grows fast
 flash of lightning
 clap of thunder
 exciting times at last

yet as fun as rain storms can be
 with puddle jumping
 and slippery grass
it still can sometimes scare me

 lightning starting fires
 car crashes
 power outs
 falling electric wires

you never know what will happen during a storm
 fun times
 scary adventure
safer to stay inside and be warm
