Love for me art not so kind
Some say I am not sane.
It causes me so much pain;
I cannot love, if thou won’t mind.
I’ve heard love is supposed to bind,
But thou hast heard I try in vain.
When I attempt – naught I gain
Love has hated me, I find.
Thine ears have heard my confession, see
Of what my soul and mind feel.
My heart rends tears – this should not be!
My final strength has broke its seal.
Will thou kindly leaveth me –
I must rest till my conscience heals.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece for a poetry writing assignment which required me to write a sonnet on an emotion. However, this assignment mainly focused on rhyme scheme, so the rhythm is not typical of a normal sonnet.
