Pumpkin Poem
You're awkward and shy but I love it
the way your nerves quake from your soul
you'd think it'd be easy to break your wall down
but I'm scared that my heart wont stay whole
My daydreams scream out how it should be
with more romance than I have read
but the fear that rejections a given
keeps these sweat hopes in my head.
I notice the way that you hover
around girls you want more than me
they look at you harshly and whisper
I hope they wont see what I see
Your face is a map, let me view it
I'll know right away if you care
but the moment I speak, you're turning away
and I'm left so still, unaware.
Someone I love says we'll make it
but we can't finish if we don't start
and you've many friends and I'm so alone
you'll never grab hold of my heart
I stare at your friends, aren't they pretty?
I bet they're deserving of you.
They're faces so flawless, how unfair.
why can I not do what they do?
