Undying Anthem
In the end, just once, I've given too much.
I'm panting and drugged, no needles in me.
My heart stopped once. I fell with no crutch.
Then I went blind, only black light to see.
I may not be smiling, but I won't frown.
But in my world, I welcome resistance.
Condemned thunder is heard. My grays go brown.
Just once, just once, I'll fight with persistence.
Welcome to my personal fallout.
Broken wings are forsaken, so I'll climb.
No slipping, no tears, I will soon crawl out.
Silence the church bells, no funeral chime.
I'm done dying despite the angel's cry.
Right now, I don't want to forever fly.
