Life's goal, the treacherous quest for pleasure
Man's golden crown of worth sits out of reach
Worries of present must be pleasures leech
So it continues, the search for treasure
They take one more swig, just for good measure
Corpses strewn in an alley fail to teach
The key to happiness they do beseech
When will it end, fulfillment through leisure

Oh for me however, I have found it
my pleasure in the depth of my heart does sit
Verses lie between leather bound pages
Bringers of the Creators breath of life
My crown of worth cuts sorrow like a knife
Nothing now can keep me in life's cages
