Castle In The Air
I look to my left and then to my right,
Push on the gas thinking it is all clear,
Only to find out this is my last night.
The result of it all was so unclear.
Two days ago,
I was applying to Rice,
And telling my mom she’s going to have to let me go,
Only we didn’t know it was going to actually be precise.
A day ago,
I was spending time with family and,
Enjoying the tradition of a sloppy joe.
Only we didn’t know what God had planned.
Last night I was chatting with friends,
And telling my boyfriend that I would meet him at his house tomorrow night.
If I had known I would have taken care of some odds and ends.
Not everything is black and white.
Today I got up to get ready for Prom.
I painted my nails and did my hair.
Then said goodbye to my dad and mom.
Only we didn’t know that I was to end up in that castle in the air.
I look to my left and then to my right...
