Black hawk winged laughter carrying us all summer long.
Once misfits, outcasts, and alone, now puzzle pieces to bliss.
Invincibility and tattered Levi jeans harmonized to a bonfire song.
Stars aligning in our favor revealing no difference between the moons stare and sun’s kiss.

Overgrown grass appreciated by the soles upon which we stood.
Days passing, hours then minutes slipping yet in our mesmerized minds, time froze.
No regrets paid for a sinful summer, memories swarm our initials carved in forbidden wood.
Carefree nights misleading to the future, previous highs became new lows.

Accomplished in finding beauty in ourselves through admiring each other,
Goodbye, the heart wrenching word we came to know too soon.
Inside jokes and sly remarks giving the tear stained cheeks an armor cover.
Farewell to sleepless nights and days put aside for dreaming until next June.

Black hawk winged laughter carrying us all summer long.
Invincibility and tattered Levi jeans harmonized to a bonfire song… now gone.
