The Cross

Very large and lengthy I stand.
Under the face of God I fall.
I am hung around people’s necks;
Symbolizing the Lord.
Yet he was crucified upon my arms,
Under the choice of Pontius Pilot,
The greedy Priests,
And the people of Jerusalem.
With blood soaked ropes bound to his wrists,
Nails were driven not only into his limbs,
But in my own as well,
His blood poured all over my body,
I stood and watched as God took him to Heaven,
To return only when God intended.
