Ghost
Tears sting her eyes and threaten to let go
She wipes her flushed cheeks, but how could it be?
She sprang to her feet, expecting a show
She looks at her face, still oddly tear free.
A warm caress gently clutches her heart
A soothing presence brushes her fingers
She takes a deep breath and jumps with a start
Though her palm lay bare, the presence lingers.
The wind lightly caresses her pale skin
Floats all around her, at her ear it stays
A tear falls, she is starting to wear thin
It breathes, “I have loved you all of my days.”
Her body quakes, as she looks to the sky
“I love you too” is her final goodbye
