Favorite Quote:
An old man told his grandson, "There is a fight between two wolves inside of us. One is bad-- it is lust, pried, and lies. The other is good-- love, caring and humility." The boy thought for a moment and asked, "Which one wins?" "The one you feed."

When it's dark enough you can see the stars

Across the emptiness of space;

The depth of darkness in between

could not the light of heaven erase.

The shadowland in which you walk

is hidden in the blanket before the dawn;

The thorns that cling to your clothes

are looking for carriage into the sun.

The cautious foot with which you tread

Across the ragged cityscape

truly brush over flowers of passion red

in the meadow where you lie 'wake.

The light of hope is proved

when this steel cage is removed.

This piece was assigned to me when I was in treatment for an eating disorder. I was given a quote that had to be the first line, and then I had to interperet it in the rest of the poem.
