i used to be flattered
when i was the first thing on your mind when you couldn't think straight.
the whole "all i hear is your name when i can't remember my own" was the highest flattery in a dysfunctional love.
but in hindsight i realize how out of line you must have been when you told me you loved me. did you know what you were saying?
maybe i'm just learning the hard way, that "i love you" doesn't mean 'i will stay with you forever'.
