Where I Belong
Growing up was so easy,
I feel very sorry for you
But I know how it feels
to start to wear heels
because others want you too.
This world expects us to fit
The modeling marketing figure
You can’t be gay,
You can’t be straight
You can’t fight for your rights either.
Social is getting confusing
For us ‘’latinos’’ even more
Your too white for the black
And to Black for the white
But no one gets to see the core.
If you cut to people wide open
And try to see difference in side
You will never even notice
That one was black
and the other white.
We are people no matter the color,
Nor the weight or the height
Cuz there’s nothing like feeling
That you have a meaning
Have a place, have a story, have a right.
Three races conform my country
Three colors if that’s what you want
And if that does not count
As an equal amount
At least is from the place where I belong.
