Cold Sunshine
I see visions of beauty in the swirling snow
They swirl with such grace they sway to and fro
A cold winter wind caresses my face
And snowflakes fall at a leisurely pace
The ghost of a memory sings through air
I feel my cold fingers push through her dark hair
She's frozen in time a sculpture of ice
I'm aware of the consequences, aware of the price
Now pale golden sun rises over the hills
But I feel no warmth all is yet still
I stare into the eyes of the queen of the cold
I take a step forward my spirit consoled
Now I make my choice, her hands are in mine
And I freeze to death in the cold sunshine
