White Walls
Cast in loathing, bloodshed, and starvation
The invisible child here still lingers
Asking for God to give him salvation
Grasping to shards of hope with thin fingers
We hide shameless behind our White Walls
And pillars, in stone they have been set
Why must we have to answer the call
Safe in our glistening parapet?
While those below us suffer endlessly
We sit above greed’ly filling our hands
Our stomach’s have been filled easily
And theirs are cavernous with naught but sand
So your White Walls may protect you for now
Trouble seems to go where it “can’t be found”
