Lavender
the beauty of a summer’s ch’ld, born fair
and soft and sweet, she shone a brilliant pink:
magenta eyes with amaranth soft hair
boast rouge and rose in all her song and ink.
and in a land of blush the child twirled,
while others mocked and jeered from gray attire
so harsh they dragged her to that hateful world;
she cloaked her rose to gray they could admire.
but on one cloudless day she caught a shade:
cerulean cobalt sapphire teal boy!
He smiled at hint of pink, he begged no gray,
brought forth concealed rouge gown, returned pink joy.
And lilac love sang orchid ballad hues;
from days of gray, to purple life they flew.
