Let’s go dancing beneath the falling snow,
Pretty snowfall to play with all day,

 

Let’s go dancing under the mistletoe,
Joy and laughter, all singing merry gay

 

Let’s go dancing around the Christmas tree,
Happy, flittering lights of reds and greens,

 

Let’s go dancing while on our shopping spree,
Seek out gifts for families fit for kings

 

Let’s go dancing beside the stockings full,
Hung up, any color, by the fire

 

Let’s go dancing, sing carols without fail,
Merry tunes, sung every year, never tire

 

Let’s go dancing; it is time for some cheer,
Hooray, hooray Christmas is almost here!

The author's comments:

I wrote this last Christmas during our Shakespeare unit. My teacher said writing a sonnet was hard and so I wrote one. And yes I know its not in iambic pentameter. ;)
