Heroes of Shadow
The darkened hearts of heroes fallen
They scream and shout to no avail
Just now regretting what they’ve gotten
They know their light is gone without a trail
Some went over for greed or lust
A few were sent from grief and loss
And many lost their own ability to trust
One saw too late what his revenge had cost
It’s strange to think that such pure good
Could turn to evil so easily
But when faced with possible godhood
These human bonds seem measly
In the end it all seems pointless
They always fail with their body lifeless.
