Farewell to Arms
Ernest Hemingway has a way with words that brings you into his books; all his books are based on his life story. Farewell To Arms is a book about him as a Red Cross ambulance driver during world war 1 and he was severely wounded in Italy. That is where he met an English nurse. They fall in love with each other and they have to hide because if they get caught they will get in trouble. If you like drama, true stories, and war, then this book is perfect for you.
Farewell to arms includes a lot of war. But shows a lot of love between Henry and Catherine. I really enjoyed the love story between these two characters because it was simple and sweet they were met for each other. It also shows Henry’s experience throughout the war and how he describes everything really got you into the book. You could see him grow throughout the book.
The love between Henry and Catherine is powerful because it shows that you have to hold on to something to stay alive during the hard times.
Hemmiway includes looks at themes throughout the book that got you thinking about your own life. How he writes really gets you hooked on the book and how he describes everything. You can picture what is happening in the book at the time.
I would recommend Farewell to arms to anyone that loves books that talk about war and love. Ernest Hemingway is the writer and the book is based on his life story and his life experience through the war, and how he fell in love.
As I was reading the book, it hit the heartstring a little bit because the love between Catherine and Henry really showed true love and the war was breaking them up. How Ernest Hemmiway writes is a different way you rarely see you see how he was feeling, what he was doing at the time and how much love he had for Catherine.
