The Hunger Games is the best book I've read in a while and I think eighth graders should read it. It has something for everyone to enjoy. For the kids who like romance, there is a love element. And for kids who like action or even tragedy, the book has that also. Suzanne Collins is an excellent writer. </div>

The book is mainly targeted toward 10 to 20 year olds. Not that anyone older or younger can't read it, but the majority is that age group. Although, anyone younger may find it disturbing or confusing. Not to mention the high reading level.</div>

In think the authors voice is mainly rebellious. Since Katniss believes the games are wrong and disgusting. Collins does a great job giving the reader a mental voice for Katniss. She is very defiant against her government and society. Not only about the games but in her home district also.</div>

The Hunger Games is about a sixteen year old girl named Katniss Everdeen who volunteers in place of her sister, Prim, who is twelve, in a fight to the death with 23 other kids. And one of those kids just so happens to fall in love with Katniss. The setting is an America far in the future, now called Panem. Katniss lives in District Twelve, formerly known as West Virginia. The conflict is Katniss battling her morals as well as 21 other kids who want her dead.</div>

I think this book was excellent. Not just the plot, but also for Collins' amazing writing style. It's a compelling story for both romance loving girls as well as action and thriller loving boys. I recommend it for any teen with good taste in books.</div>
