In The Mix MAG
Usher, a well-known artist, plays Darrell in this romantic comedy. Darrell is a DJ at a New York club and also friends with Frank (Chazz Palminteri).
Frank invites Darrell to his daughter Dolly’s homecoming party, but there’s a rude interruption when a bullet flies through the window. Faster than the speed of light, Darrell jumps in front of the bullet and saves Frank and Dolly. When Frank realizes that one of his enemies is behind the attack, he knows he must keep his daughter safe (before she’s in the history books). He has Dolly choose anyone in the house to be her bodyguard, and she picks Darrell.
Hesitant at first, Darrell begins to fall for Dolly and as their relationship grows, so does the tension between Darrell and Frank.
But who shot the bullet? And why? What will happen next? This is Usher’s first movie but you can barely tell from the perfect way he plays this role. “In the Mix” is one of the only movies that can pack action, romance and comedy into 96 minutes of pure entertainment.
