The Exorcist
The Exorcist is the movie that did it. The Exorcist put horror movies on the map and forever revolutionized the ways people created scary movies. Back in the day, when this movie was in theaters, people would throw up out of fear in the theaters. Pregnant women were told that it was advised for them to not see this movie. The scene where the little girl moves her head 360 degrees around is gruesome, and terrifying. Without this movie, movies like the Conjuring would have never been the way that they are.
This movie is terrifying, and is essentially the original horror movie. The ending is pretty good, and this movie has plenty of spine-chilling moments. Although the visual effects are not that great, they were very good for the time it came out, and therefore do not suffer that much as a result. But if this movie was remade nowadays, it would be beyond terrifying, gruesome, and people would remember why this movie received so much hype back in the day.
