Black Sheep
I directed, scripted, acted, and edited this film, which depicts people who are different from the mainstream. This film is an allegory for why people should embrace more than conventionally accepted values. The society we live in is a complex web of commonly accepted values, but people outside this circle encounter criticism for their difference. This invisible circle not only "paints the ground as a prison" but also creates filtered lenses through which people view the world, making them unknowingly reject dissidents and lose their own opinions. As a 13-year-old girl, I often teeter between listening to what is "right" and my inner self, constantly changing to avoid being left out and putting on invisible lenses to fit in. But now I realize how important it is to stand up for myself, preserve my individuality, and think critically. I aspire to make society more inclusive, open-minded, and creative. Moreover, people should be aware of influences on the internet and shouldn't always follow the mainstream, especially when living under the control of mass media, which is a platform that can be used for spreading misinformation and propaganda. Having critical perspectives and unique identities are all important to individuals.
