i am child
Small crystals fall from the sky and settle onto my coat. I look up and see the first snow of the year; beautiful in shape, color, and size. All different, no two snow flakes a like. As I see the flakes fall to the ground I’m reminded again of what it meant to be little. To be carefree. Who cares what others think? I can’t remember right this moment why I should care. I see myself as a child again and find my back on the ground; imagining, waiting, for more snow to come so I can relive my childhood days, make one last snow angel to cherish before I cast it away for adulthood. I close my eyes and slip away, floating carelessly through the brisk winter air. Finally, I am child.
