As most of us know, the beloved toy store, Toys ‘R’ Us shut its doors, due to bankruptcy in 2018. All of us Toys ‘R’ Us kids were really sad to see it close down because of the memories and the fun that it brought to every birthday present trip, Christmas present trip, and just a ‘fun day with the fam’ trip.

But, we do not need to remember all of that because Toys ‘R’ Us is opening its doors again in over 400 Macy’s stores this year!

Now, some people blame shipping stores like Amazon and Walmart for the bankruptcy of Toys ‘R’ Us but, more people are figuring out why Toys ‘R’ Us closed down in the first place. CNN news reporter, Chris Isidore, states, “The company's biggest problem: It was saddled with billions of dollars in debt. That debt stopped it from making the necessary investment in stores. And that meant an unpleasant shopping experience that doomed the chain.” The store was run for 70 years and all of us were sad to see it close down.

But, Amazon did have a part in Toys ‘R’ Us closing down. For example, Amazon offers cheap prices and quick shipping. Not to mention the free-shipping that is offered on most products as well. Toys ‘R’ Us was so bankrupt that they couldn’t even afford to expand their franchise any farther, causing them to have limited customers.

The CEO of Toys ‘R’ Us, David Brandon, vowed to his employees and staff that he would spend more money on staff and he never got to it. This misconception caused his staff to leave and quit their jobs at Toys ‘R’ Us. On the other hand, Walmart started to raise their wages for their staff and employees. Walmart said that from 2018-2021, it would pay their employees and staff $72 million on their staff. Walmart didn’t do anything wrong, but this is just a comparison on how bankrupt Toys ‘R’ Us really was.

Anyway… Toys ‘R’ Us is making a HUGE comeback!!

So, get ready to drive to the place that you’d never thought you’d say you were going again…. “I wanna be a Toys ‘R’ Us kid”
