My Remedy
8:15 a.m.; I’m tired and wish that I was still snug in my toasty bed. I trudge into the art room and am suddenly overwhelmed with the smell of fresh paint and pungent cleaning supplies. The stimulating feeling of creativity swells in me when I start to work. Sitting on a hard stool, listening to music, I hardly notice as the room starts to fill with people. Faintly I hear an outburst of laughter, but with a single long brushstroke it soon fades. Swoosh; my mind is lost in the swipes of vibrant shades of reds. Thinking of nothing but the image being created, I am completely relaxed. For the next forty-five minutes nothing can tear my attention away.
