Thank You Veteran
Dear Wisconsin Veteran,
Everyday we are given the opportunity to make the world a better place. The day you decided to sacrifice your life to help fight for our country was the day you decided to help make the world a better place. I would not only like to thank you for making that choice, but inspiring me to try to follow in your footsteps to also help make the world a better place.
I am writing to you because in school I recently watched a documentary on the Honor Flight and I was so moved by the effort and love that goes into it. I want to be a part of making you smile today and remind you how grateful I am for all you have done for this country. I think it is important you know what you did has made an impact on so many and should always be remembered
I am a senior in High School. Next year I will be attending college to study nursing. It is people like you that have inspired me to help others and put my education to something that will keep this world moving forward.
I hope you enjoyed going to DC to see the memorials in honor of you. I remember when I went to DC to see them and it gave me a new perspective on things. I learned to not take things for granted and just how amazing our lives are. They are so beautiful and I hope you loved them as much as I did.
Your determination, selflessness, and bravery has given me the freedom that I would not have if it wasn’t for you. I am able to live my life the way I am because of your courage. I couldn’t imagine leaving my family like you did.
I hope today showed you how thankful I and so many others are for what you have done. It should never be taken for granted. Thanks for helping to give me freedom and a chance to be me.
Sincerely,
Erin

I was inspired to write this letter to a veteran after watching a documentary about the honor flight.
